The challenge of this work was to show the speed, strength and versatility of this amazing animal. This is a tribute to the power, style and grace it possesses. The project took two years and was done in two countries. Kept the work in limited tones to show the fluidity of motion. It was initiated by a very talented and celebrated artist Saud Al Hunaini.
Fun fact about horses:
• Horses can sleep both lying down and standing up. They have a handy mechanism in their legs called a “stay apparatus”. This allowing them to relax their muscles while keeping the legs locked in position to hold them up.
• Horses have the largest eyes of any land mammal.
• Horses drink at least 25 gallons of water a day (more in hotter climates)
• It takes 9-12 months to re-grow an entire horse hoof
• A horse year is equal to 6 1/2 human years for the first 3 years of the horse's life. At the horse age of three the equivalent changes and is approximately 5 years to man. From 4 the horse year equivalency changes to 2 1/2 years.
