    Acrylics on canvas. Dimensions ( 121.92 x 152 cms ) / ( 48 x 60 inches ).

This work is a unique, figurative grouping of colours, grouping of bright and dark portions consisting of mood setting combinations to bring out the portrayal of the confidence of this magnificent beast. Most works of horses are to show strength, speed or beauty. In this case Bucephalus is being shown in a contracting manner to show his confidence. He has been depicted here almost as great and regal as his master. He was with one of the most powerful and ambitious humans who has ever lived. The careless mane thrown on his neck in bright contrasts shows his disregard to smaller things sees himself as an elitist being which is shown by his calm yet alert eyes. Reminiscent of assurance.

Bucephalus or Bucephalas was the horse of Alexander the Great, and one of the most famous horses of antiquity. Ancient accounts state that Bucephalus died after the Battle of the Hydaspes in 326 BC, in what is now modern Punjab Province of Pakistan, and is buried in Jalalpur Sharif outside Jhelum, Punjab, Pakistan.
