Fun facts about the Chimpanzees
• A chimpanzee's arms are longer than its legs. When extended, the common chimp's long arms span one and a half times the body's height.
• Chimpanzees represent our closest living relative, sharing 98% of our genetic DNA.

• Chimpanzee mothers carry their babies on their back for 4 years or more. They remain close their whole lives.
• Other than humans, chimpanzees use tools more often and for more purposes than any other animal on earth.
• The mating ritual between chimpanzees only takes between 10 and 15 seconds. In most cases, the chimps are also doing something else, such as eating, while engaging in mating.
• At the beginning of the 20th century, there were between one and two million chimpanzees on earth. Today, there is believed to be fewer than 300,000 chimpanzees living.
